Teenagers, we don't know anything.

It's all over facebook.
It's all over blogger.
It's in my phone.

"Kelly Campbell passed away in a car crash yesterday."

To be perfectly honest, I didn't know her very well. I could put a face with a name, but I never really talked to her. I missed an opportunity. Many knew her, and they all said she was a wonderful person.

When I heard, I was at a graduation party for my friend Casey. It was a fun party, great food. We were all having a good time until Casey got back from a joy ride in her new car. She ran to us sobbing, and then we heard. Everyone was crying. I was in shock. It just hit home. It could've been me, or one of my best friends.

Casey knew her through her play, Cinderella, she was the lead. Kelly teched for it. She was devastated. My friend Stephanie knew her, she was in her theatre 2 class, she was bawling.
I cried, just because it was so awful. I barely knew her, yet I knew I was still affected.

My grandpa used to be principal of Concord High. He's an amazing human being. He hired Kelly's uncle. Mr. Campbell was an english teacher, and taught my mom. This week I went into the library during gym. I looked around aimlessly for random books. Mr. Campbell came up to me and said the famous words, "Are you Bert Thomas' grandson?"
Yes. I replied.
He went on and talked to me about how great my family is and how he misses them. He told me how he taught my mom, and how bright she was. He was very kind. He said if I ever needed anything to talk to him.

I feel so bad for him. I've cried for hours. I'm going to Kelly's viewing on tuesday. I hope a lot of people go. There were 400 people who went to the lighting on Saturday.

It's true.
We teens all think we're invincible.
We are too young to die.
We want to have fun.
We drive too fast and drink too much and lose sight of reality and drift into our self centered worlds.
No more.
This teaches us all a lesson.
Nothing is certain.
We live in a dangerous world, and we must take caution.

It worries me about driving, but I still want to.
It really worries me about my friends that drive.

And to my only reader that drives,
Pull your seatbelt tight and be safe this summer driving, I would really miss you... you know.

Well, we must keep living,
But we will never forget you kelly.
